Welcome to the eighth edition of HEAL: the National Conference on Healthcare Excellence through Administration and Leadership. Due to the prevailing pandemic situation, this year again, we are constrained to organise the conference on a virtual platform for a three hour duration. The conference will bring together senior level experts from healthcare industry. They will share their knowledge, expertise and thoughts on successful healthcare strategies, focusing on this year's theme 'Data Privacy & Security in Healthcare'. The aim of the conference is to discuss and evaluate the present environment of healthcare data privacy and security. An online quiz will also be conducted as an accompaniment during the conference |

Data Privacy & Security in Healthcare
Health data privacy refers to the laws, regulations, and protocols that help patients control who sees their sensitive medical information. Health data privacy also involves the processes and procedures to keep this information out of the hands of hackers and cyber criminals.
Deciding on the allowable uses of data while preserving security and patient's right to privacy is a difficult task. Digitisation of health and patient data is undergoing a dramatic and paradigm shift. Big data analytics in healthcare carries many benefits, promises and presents great potential for transforming healthcare, yet it raises a manifold of barriers and challenges. In this conference, we intend to discuss the current status of healthcare data privacy and security, the legal and regulatory perspective, the threats in data security, and the way forward.
